About CADS Surveys

Iain joined the team in 2001 and spent more than a decade on the tools before taking on his current role. Responsible for the development and delivery of CADS Surveys range of services, Iain places client engagement and a fit-for-purpose approach at the heart of every project.

Outside of work Iain is a keen sports follower when he can get away from his endless list of home improvement tasks.

With almost 30 years of experience behind him, James is one of our most experienced surveyors. Working predominantly on measured building surveys, his projects have taken him to mainland Europe, Canada, and the Outer Hebrides. James is also our Health & Safety guru.

A keen photographer and walker, James has successfully completed the famous Trailwalker challenge, completing 100km in 24 hours across the South Downs.

Jamie joined the team in 2015 having previously worked as a railway monitoring surveyor and has become an integral part of our measured building and topographical surveying services.

A lifelong supporter of his hometown side Huddersfield F.C., Jamie can be found shouting from the stands at the Terriers home games throughout the season.

Alberto has been a member of the team for 11 years and is our lead Engineering Surveyor. As the teams ‘’Techie’’, Alberto embraces problem solving, constantly explores more efficient ways of working and regularly challenges our processes.

In his spare time, Alberto enjoys playing sports and has developed a keen interest in electronics, earning him the title of CADS Surveys Mr Fix-it.

Jamie is surveying adventurer, always keen to visit new locations during his working week. An eternal optimist, Jamie can find solace in the most challenging of site conditions.

Jamie’s leisure time is split between attending live music events, frequenting real ale houses (sometimes by paddleboard) and supporting his beloved Norwich City.

With 25 years’ experience in cartography and GIS analytics, Simon is our GIS lead. Among his more interesting projects are producing mapping for the MOD and identifying worldwide locations of anti-venom!

A keen sportsman, Simon has spent many years competing for his local Rugby and Cricket teams and once played against the brother of England fast bowler Olly Stone, who apparently is also a bit good.

A former Architectural Technologist, Lee’s extensive construction knowledge and 20 plus year surveying experience serves him well in his current role, especially when creating large scale Revit Models.

Away from the day job, Lee is the teams DIY king. From loft conversions to driveways, he can do it all!

As one of our more experienced Revit Modellers, Jamie embraces the challenge of creating complex builds. Adopting a mindful and considered approach, Jamie exemplifies the idiom ‘The devil is in the detail’.

Outside of work, Jamie is a keen roadrunner, completing his first London Marathon in 2025 and becoming a Guinness World Record Holder to boot, for being one of a record number of finishers.

Liam joined the team in 2023 having previously worked as an MEP Revit Technician and has recently completed his Level 3 Geospatial Survey Technician Apprenticeship with a distinction!

As the teams Gym Shark, Liam is the only person who doesn’t complain about carrying kit to site. He is also a keen hiker and has successfully climbed the National Three Peaks.
